To date, we have had 11 confirmed cases of COVID-19, 10 current employees and 1 former. Five current employees have returned back to work and the remaining 5 are recovering at home. None have required any hospitalization.

We continue to be consistent with our thermal screening practices as well as mandated use of PPE for anyone entering our facility. We have also set up safety barriers (plexiglass) in a few more departments and are making fast progress to have it set up in all of our departments where employees work closely with one another.

We will continue to be vigilant and transparent both internally and externally to you, our customers. We also ask that you do the same in return and communicate any change in your demand positions as quickly as possible and in this regard we would like to thank you for the inputs received this week.

If anyone has any questions, do not hesitate to reach out to your Kirkhill customer service contact or your sales contact with any questions.

This week Kirkhill returned from our one-week furlough. During the week we were on furlough, we got notice of 5 employees receiving positive test results to COVID-19. The impacted employees received these results while they were already out of the facility and they have not been back to Kirkhill since. None of the affected employees are hospitalized and all remain at home under advice from their doctors as they go through the 14-day period, after which they will be allowed to return to work. We expect that they will be ready to return to work in early May.

We continue to be consistent with our thermal screening practices as well as mandated use of PPE for anyone entering our facility.

This week Kirkhill received notice of our first confirmed case of the COVID-19 Coronavirus. The employee was last here on Friday, April 3rd and subsequently we did a thorough decontamination of any areas where that employee spent time.

In light of this, coupled with the significant downturn in demand for airline spares parts as well as parts for new commercial aircraft manufacturing, Kirkhill has decided to close our facility tonight and re-open it on Monday morning, April 20th. Tomorrow was already a planned holiday so the new news here is that we will be closed all of next week.

We will continue to be vigilant and transparent both internally and externally to you. We also ask that you, our customers, do the same in return and communicate any change in your demand positions as quickly as possible.

If anyone has any questions, do not hesitate to reach out to your Kirkhill customer service or sales contact via e-mail and these will be answered upon our return.

This is the third update from Kirkhill regarding the actions we are taking to protect our employees, our business, and our commitments to our customers.

We have ordered new thermal cameras and are going to be installing them next week. This new technology will allow for an even more accurate reading for our temperature checks upon entry to our facility. As of today, both our employees and facilities are safe with zero detection. We are continuing to meet our current commitments and do not see that recovery or delivery commitment being interrupted in the near term.

Kirkhill is partnered with a 3rd party decontamination team as part of our emergency action plan should we receive notice of a confirmed case of Covid19. Yesterday, we ran through a practice drill where we decontaminated several areas on our production floor and the front office. The process went smoothly and we will be prepared in case we are notified of a confirmed case.

Kirkhill is communicating regularly with its supplier base to capture updated status information. This is also to keep our customers informed of any changes in the potential severity of impact to delivery of components manufactured in regions of the world affected by the virus. To date, we do not see any risk to our supply chain.

We will continue to be vigilant and transparent both internally and externally to you. We also ask that you, our customers, do the same in return and communicate any change in your demand positions as quickly as possible.

If anyone has any questions, do not hesitate to reach out to your Kirkhill customer service or sales contact or also myself in case of emergency.

Sincerely,
Kevin McHenry
President

Kirkhill, Inc. is classified within the US Defense Industrial Base Sector of the Critical Infrastructure Sectors recognized by the US Department of Homeland Security. Dear Valued Customer,

As promised, this is the first update from Kirkhill re the actions we are taking to protect our employees, our business and our commitments to our customers.

The health and safety checks mentioned in our first communication are in place and working well. As of today, both our employees and facilities are safe with zero detection. We are continuing to meet our current commitments and do not see that recovery or delivery commitment being interrupted in the near term.

Regarding our supply base, Kirkhill continues to monitor them and we are getting updates regularly. As of today’s briefing, we do not see any risk to our supply chain.

Yesterday, CA Governor Gavin Newsome issued a Stay at Home directive for all Non-Essential workers. Also yesterday, the US Department of Homeland Security issued a memorandum on the identification of Essential Businesses as part of the CISA (Federal Critical Infrastructure Sectors Act) and we have confirmed that Kirkhill is an Essential Business that is required to continue to operate.

As I stated just 3 days ago, we will get through this but it will take us all being vigilant and transparent both internally and externally to you. We also ask that you, our customers, do that same in return and communicate any change in your demand positions as quickly as possible.

If anyone has any questions, do not hesitate to reach out to your Kirkhill customer service or sales contact or also myself in case of emergency.

Sincerely,
Kevin McHenry

Dear Valued Customer,

The global crisis surrounding this virus is unprecedented and something that we cannot control. The Kirkhill Team is focused on what we can influence and that is taking all necessary steps to ensure the safety and well-being of our employees and our business in our support of you, our customers.

In this regard, Kirkhill has implemented the following safety checks:

– Temperature checks for all employees, suppliers or contractors with anyone showing excessive temperatures being asked to go home and consult their doctors.
– All customer representatives and visitors have been asked to work remotely and not visit us. The only exception to this is customer source inspectors. To gain access to the inspection areas only, customer source inspectors will be required to go through the same protocols as our employees.
– With the closure of many schools in the surrounding areas, we are working with the impacted employees to see if we can offer more flexibility regarding the work schedule / location.
– We have implemented our Crisis Management Plans regarding emergency response and business recovery should we find an employee showing signs of the virus, including all steps as recommended by the CDC such as quarantine, disinfection, reporting to authorities and eventually business recovery.

To date, both our employees and facilities are safe with zero detection. We are continuing to meet our current commitments and our recovery from historical past dues and do not see that recovery or delivery commitment being interrupted in the near term.

Regarding our supply base, Kirkhill is a very vertically integrated business that is dependent on only a few major external components to make our seals. These externally sourced components fall into three main categories of chemicals, inserts and tools and Kirkhill has been assured by these suppliers that they do not see an impact to our requirements. They are closely monitoring the situation and updating us regularly.

Kirkhill is also implementing these additional precautionary measures to protect our employees and our business:

– Restricting any travel by our personnel, rather promoting conference calls and web based meetings.
– Expanding remote work options.
– Promoting social distancing.
– Enhancing cleaning and disinfecting protocols at our facilities

To keep you informed, we will be updating this communication at least once a week and more frequently if we have an issue. We will get through this but it will take us all being vigilant and transparent both internally and externally to you. This memo is a reflection of that intent.

On a personal note, as an Irish convert to these shores I am used to spending this day celebrating St. Paddy’s Day. At the core of what St. Paddy’s Day has always meant though is a celebration of life with the people that mean the most personally and professionally. What better way to do it now than by protecting those that mean the most.

To this end, Thank You for your continued cooperation and support in these very challenging times and the actions that are necessary and within our control to support our on-going operations.

If anyone has any questions, do not hesitate to reach out to your Kirkhill customer service or sales contact or also myself in case of emergency.

Sincerely,
Kevin McHenry
President
