Job Summary

Responsible for the organization, administration, and control of the company’s financial activities.  Incumbent has the primary responsibility for maintaining the company’s financial records and for controlling all assets, liabilities, and financial transactions. Institutes and implements financial policies and procedures and supervises assigned personnel.  Position maintains close liaison relationship with corporate office and coordinates financial matters with other divisions, departments and functions.  Oversees the IT and Finance/Accounting department.

Salary Range: $180,000 – $220, 000

Primary Responsibilities

  • Participates as a member of the President’s executive team to guide the course of the company and to assure its success.
  • Develop and implement accounting systems for the preparation of financial and operating statements; ensure statements correctly reflect the company’s financial position; recommend and implement action necessary to improve profit and financial position.
  • Direct the credit and collection function; take final action on delinquent accounts.
  • Direct the preparation of work schedules for income tax liability sales and use tax liabilities and liens; direct any audits including the year-end audit and asset replacement evaluations.
  • Ensure adequate records of receipts and appropriations are maintained and expended funds are accounted for.
  • Oversee cashier function.
  • Hire and assign personnel.
  • Discipline and conduct salary reviews and performance appraisals for employees assigned.
  • Direct the instruction and training of personnel.
  • Maintain a high level of productivity and morale.
  • Develop and monitor procedures for calculating cost estimates for new orders.
  • Act to improve profit return.
  • Establish and maintain procedures for collecting and reporting product orders and overhead costs.
  • Administer the establishment of sales estimating and inventory costing data.
  • Prepare financial data for government agency reports.
  • Develop and maintain controls for fixed assets, stock and work in progress inventories; coordinate annual inventory audits.
  • Establish and maintain procedures for the prompt handling of payables.
  • Ensure discounts are taken and invoices verified. Sign checks for issue of funds.
  • Work with mangers to prepare annual budgets; coordinate the development of yearly and five-year forecast.  Provide budgetary controls.
  • Establish and maintain effective time keeping procedures for the accumulation of hours worked.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of data relating to payroll, payroll deductions and the auditing of payroll accounts.
  • Keep current on new developments in the accounting field; recommend and implement changes in systems and procedures where applicable.

Qualifications

  • Ensure compliance with all company quality programs including AS/ISO 9100 and others.
  • Must have strong oral & written communication skills and have a high level of moral and ethical codes.
  • Proven skills in organization, managing people, mentoring, and teamwork is a must.

Education/Previous Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance required. MBA, CPA, preferred
  • 7+ years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education.
