Position Summary:

The Systems Administrator position is responsible for working with a team to automate management tasks, streamline processes and perform standard administration functions as needed.  Manage all IT systems, including cloud, LAN, WAN, Vmware, Windows servers, backups, and various enterprise systems. Working with the latest cloud and on-premise technologies, you would be exposed to interesting solutions regularly. This position will handle all levels of issue escalations, end user requirements, troubleshooting, maintenance, documentation, and training.  This position will also evaluate, design, and implement new solutions. Additionally, the systems administrator will ensure systems are secure, monitoring is effective, and make recommendations to provide improvements or cost savings.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support, monitor, test and troubleshoot hardware and software problems.
  • Perform and coordinate effective installation and performance of advanced operating system hardware and software on servers.
  • Install new software releases, system upgrades, evaluate and install patches and resolve software related problems.
  • Plan and perform appropriate procedures, documentation, inventory assessment, and other procedures related to IT.
  • Conduct software and hardware evaluations, provide technical analysis and implement systems to meet the company’s IT goals.
  • Maintain, manage, implement, and document all areas of IT infrastructure, include cloud-hosted solutions, on-prem systems, virtual servers, SaaS solutions, mobile computing platforms, etc.
  • Ensure systems are recoverable, reliable, secure, and meet all levels of regulatory compliance as directed by the IT manager, including NIST, CMMC, DFARS, ITAR, etc.
  • Handle DNS administration, implement and configure TCP/IP environments, and troubleshoot network problems.
  • Interface with security monitoring team to escalate and remediate security issues in a timely manner.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 4+ years’ experience managing a variety of technologies in a MS Windows network environment, including Vmware virtualization, Active Directory, Group Policy, IIS, FTP, Windows Firewall, etc.
  • Familiarity with O365, Azure, SaaS solutions, cloud and hybrid cloud solutions, single sign-on and federation, modern mobile devices such as iPhone and wireless networks, mobile device management tools.
  • Proficiency with Powershell and/or other languages to assemble useful scripts for automating IT management tasks.
  • Experience with implementing and managing networks, firewalls, switches, VPN, subnetting and segmentation, VLAN, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, RADIUS, SSH, SDWAN, etc.
  • Working knowledge of SQL database servers, Access and Excel data analysis, use of cloud-based data analytics platforms.
  • Familiarity with typical security-related tooling such as EDR, AV, email filtering, backup solutions.
  • Experience building and repairing systems such as servers, storage solutions, networking equipment, etc.
  • Outstanding customer service skills, as well as excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player, respond to critical situations outside of normal hours, and a willingness to lend a hand with any and all projects.

Desired Qualifications:

  • US citizenship required.
  • Must be able to pass screening required for government clearance.
  • MCSA, MCSE, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Self-starter that requires minimal supervision and can provide oversight for any assigned projects.
  • Proven ability to operate in a fast paced environment under pressure and after hours when needed.
