Engineering Technician

Job Summary

The Entry-Level Engineering Technician will play a critical role in the development of new products through all phases of the engineering process. This includes interpreting and analyzing technical drawings, supporting layup procedures, and actively participating in the compression molding and finishing processes. The technician will be responsible for creating detailed work instructions and defining material requirements for production. Additionally, the role includes providing technical training to production personnel to ensure adherence to process standards, quality control, and efficient execution of manufacturing protocols.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Define Bill of material (BOMS) and Routers for new products.
  • Document all manufacturing processes and update current Engineering documentation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during product development and testing phases.
  • Define tooling sketch to support the procurement fixtures and compression molds.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation, reports, and specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, quality, and production departments.
  • Use hands to mold products as part of the manufacturing and prototyping processes.
  • Ability to transport molded products safely and efficiently using carts or other equipment.
  • Maintain a safe and organized workspace, following company and industry safety standards.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of compression molding experience. 
  • Strong communication, presentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing and solving parts and process issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Eagerness to learn Engineering processes, work in the development of new products. 
  • Ability to multi-task and shift priorities.

Education/Previous Experience Requirements

  • 2-5 years related work experience in compression molding.
  • Associate’s Degree preferred
